diocese of charlotte safe environment policyThe Diocese of Charlotte has adopted policies and procedures to safeguard those whose care has been entrusted to us.
The Safe Environment Program for the Diocese of Charlotte requires all volunteers aged 18 and over to be formally onboarded as a volunteer with the parish before they can serve with a ministry. This requirement includes completing a background check and Safe Environment Abuse Prevention and Education training.- New volunteer: New volunteer onboarding includes completing a background check and Safe Environment Abuse Prevention and Education online training.
- Active volunteer: Once Safe Environment certified, annual renewal training is required.

Important: If you're not formally registered as a parishioner at St. Peter, please complete the New Member Registration Form prior to starting the new volunteer onboarding process.
New Member Registration form
New volunteer onboarding includes a background check and an online Safe Environment Abuse Prevention and Education training.
To begin volunteer onboarding, email our parish Safe Environment Coordinator, Jane O'Donoghue.
Include in your email the following information and form:- Note the St. Peter ministries or ministry activity that you would like to join or serve.
- List any current or past volunteering at any MACS Schools or parish in the Charlotte Diocese.
- Completed Volunteer Profile Form

If you're currently an active volunteer (Safe Environment certified) in our parish:
1. Log in to your CMG account: CMG Connect- DO NOT create a new account!
- You may also already have a CMG account if you volunteer at a MACS school (you only need one account).
For detailed instructions (if needed), "Safe Environment Training Instructions," scroll to the bottom of the Diocese's Safe Environment page and select the "Renewal Employees & Volunteers" tab:

2. On the CMG Connect Dashboard page, check your Certification Status.- If your certification is EXPIRED, complete the required online training labeled Safe Environment Training for VOLUNTEERS or Safe Environment Training Renewal for VOLUNTEERS
- If your certification has NOT expired, you are finished for now. The CMG Connect system will notify you by email when it is time to log in to complete your annual assigned training.
