The Diocese of Charlotte has adopted policies and procedures to safeguard those whose care has been entrusted to us.
The Safe Environment Program for the Diocese of Charlotte requires all volunteers aged 18 and over to be formally onboarded as a volunteer with the parish before they can serve with a ministry. This requirement includes completing a background check and Safe Environment Abuse Prevention and Education training.
New volunteer: New volunteer onboarding includes completing a background check and Safe Environment Abuse Prevention and Education online training.
Active volunteer: Once Safe Environment certified, annual renewal training is required.
Please refer below to the Safe Environment Certification Steps for your specific situation (new volunteer or active volunteer).
Important: If you're not formally registered as a parishioner at St. Peter, please complete the New Member Registration Form prior to starting the new volunteer onboarding process. To begin volunteer onboarding, email our parish Safe Environment Coordinator, Jane O'Donoghue. Include in your email the following information and form:
Note the St. Peter ministries or ministry activity that you would like to join or serve.
List any current or past volunteering at any MACS Schools or parish in the Charlotte Diocese.
You may also already have a CMG account if you volunteer at a MACS school (you only need one account).

2. On the CMG Connect Dashboard page, check your Certification Status.
If your certification is EXPIRED, complete the required online training labeled Safe Environment Training for VOLUNTEERS or Safe Environment Training Renewal for VOLUNTEERS
If your certification has NOT expired, you are finished for now. The CMG Connect system will notify you by email when it is time to log in to complete your annual assigned training.
