Here's a high-level view of how our communication process works:
1. Planning: involves identifying content needs, determining target audiences, gathering source material and assets, and outlining a content strategy.
2. Creation phase: focuses on producing the actual content (Sunday bulletin, eBlast, landing pages, webpages, coordinated promotional materials, etc.)
3. Distribution: involves delivering the content to the target audience through various delivery channels (Sunday bulletin, landing page, web site, eBlast, eNews, plus other digital media channels)
4. Maintenance: ensures the content remains accurate and relevant. (Important for events, web pages and landing pages.)
5. Archival: sunsetting or deleting old content. (Important for events, web pages and landing pages.)

Helpful tips for creating communication requests

The Sunday bulletin is the paper-based delivery of parish news and events.
- Submit information request early so we can collaborate, if needed. You can always send an email to request we save space for a particular Sunday.
- Communication's targeted deadline for the completed bulletin draft is Friday, which is ten days before Sunday's bulletin date. Best practice: send requests at least three weeks before it would run in the Sunday bulletin.
- Please note: before holidays, the bulletin submission deadlines are earlier and there are instances when two bulletins get submitted in one week. Best practice: submit your request as as early as you can.
- Event recaps are always welcomed. Please provide a summary and date of the event.
Important submission notes:
- Preferred file type for content is a Word doc. This enables us to repurpose content as needed due to space limitations in a particular bulletin. (Please do not submit a JPG for content or text tables.)
- Preferred file types for photos, images and QR codes is JPG or PNG.

Mass announcements must be brief, actionable and timely. It is a call to do something now.

Registration forms are created by St. Peter Communications using the eCatholic platform. We have created a template and update it based on your registration needs.

Additional Intake requirements:- Who will monitor the registration submissions? Please provide a contact email. (This is not for public facing.)
- Provide the message for the registration confirmation that is sent once the user submits the registration form.

Be sure your ministry is utilizing the Events module on the parish website. These events are not populated based on the parish Outlook Calendar. If you send a Sunday bulletin request or an event request, the event will get added to the event module.
What is the Events module on the website? Please go to the home page, look for "Events at St. Peter" and you will see four featured events. Events can also be featured on specific web pages. Our website promotes events that sunset off web pages based on the date. Only four events are featured on the home page at a time. However, if you click 'More Events' you will see the calendar. You can explore events in the future or events in the past.
There are two levels for an event:
• Summary – this is the content that displays in the event calendar section. (If you are looking at the home page, you will see summary content.)
• Full Details – when you click on the event, the full details should display (if full details have been entered). There is also the ability to link to a landing page or a registration form. St. Peter Communication will create the landing page and the registration form.
The input for an event includes:
• Event Name
• Start Date
• Time
• Location
• Summary
• Full Details
• URL to registration (if applicable)Timing: We suggest providing event information at least four weeks in advance for visibility on website. Best practice is submit as early as you can!

The parish tries to limit eBlasts to a timely and specific call to action. For example, register for "X" event.

Communications can send a funeral notice to the general parish mailing list.
It requires a request from the family and is a part of the funeral arrangements facilitated by the parish office.
A parish priest or deacon notifies Communications that the family has requested a funeral notice to the parish.
The obituary, funeral information, photo and targeted delivery day/time are required for the funeral notice.

St. Peter parish has accounts for Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Due to staff limitations, the parish is not active on social media.
