day of caring: each month. one day. a different activity.
Day of Caring: Each month. One Day. A Different Activity. (And perhaps a different time.)
We know it can be challenging to commit to on-going community outreach projects or ministries due to work, travel and busy family demands, so we're introducing a monthly "Day of Caring." This new initiative focuses on one organization each month. and provides a service opportunity that parishioners can sign up for a few hours.
Each month there will be one opportunity to serve one organization. Some examples that might be offered through the year:
a morning activity to landscape or tidy a garden or yard in need.
an evening activity to chop, cook and serve a meal
an early afternoon for crafts with kid
We hope a "Day of Caring" each month gives parishioners a chance to participate in community outreach and foster new relationships.
Day of Caring aims to expand our parish opportunities of service. We can serve twelve different organizations and you have more opportunities to get involved in community outreach when you're able.
Walking in the footsteps of St. Ignatius, we seek God in all things as we nurture a consistent, parish-wide culture of care where we live the love of Christ through service to our neighbors.
Our Day of Caring service events were created as a result of feedback received from parishioners who responded to the Disciple Maker Index (DMI). Parishioners told us they wanted more opportunities to gather as a church community, whether in a social setting or coming together to support community outreach organizations.
