The Franciscan Friars from the Diocese of Charlotte (Frs. Casey, Jason & Tito) request our help making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The Friars typically hand out 20-30 peanut butter and sandwiches per day in Charlotte's Center City.
St. Peter has committed to making 50 peanut butter sandwiches each week starting in May 2026 through December 2026.
What you need to know: There are specific guidelines you will need to follow when making the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches:
Use either white or soft whole wheat sandwich bread, no heels please.
If possible, place a skim of peanut butter on both sides of the bread and jelly in the middle. That way, the jelly is less likely to bleed through the bread.
Wrap each sandwich separately in a sealed sandwich bag.
Place the prepared sandwiches back in the bread loaf sleeve and tie off with the twist tie the loaf came with.
Sandwich drop off occurs on Sunday. You will need to drop off the sandwiches at Biss Hall in the designated container before the 9:00 am or 11:30 am Mass.
