St. Peter Catholic Church is an uptown church whose campus includes multiple buildings located in two locations. The main campus consists of the church, an administrative building, a basement hall, a meeting house, and a Columbarium. There are also two floors in an adjacent building and an offsite residence. Three of the structures are approximately 130 years old, in good condition.
The Facilities and Grounds Manager is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the St. Peter Catholic Church buildings and grounds.
Essential Functions:
Manages the overall maintenance, upkeep and repair of the facilities and grounds of all of St. Peter Catholic Church properties.
Develops and manages the work plan for routine facilities maintenance and cleaning. Supervises vendors who are on parish properties.
Develops requests for proposals to secure quotes for capital projects; assists in evaluating the quotes.
Coordinates routine operational and capital projects.
Assists the Finance & Operations Manager in preparing the facilities and grounds portions of the annual budget.
Accompanies regulatory and insurance inspectors who inspect campus facilities and equipment; ensures that identified issues are addressed.
Identifies needed repairs and maintenance items, ensures that the identified issues are addressed, identifies the appropriate vendors, and coordinates and supervises their onsite work.
Coordinates with other parish departments and ministries to set up facilities to host events.
Responds to facilities and grounds emergency maintenance and repair issues, as needed.
Performs minor carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs.
Other Responsibilities:
Prepares the columbarium and church for funerals.
Delivers and picks up parish items that require dry cleaning.
Orders and maintains the stock of campus supplies, i.e., janitorial, ministry, and liturgical supplies.
Qualifications:
High School diploma required; Community College or Trade School courses in HVAC, carpentry, facilities management, or related would be beneficial.
Minimum of 5 years directly related experience.
Supervisory experience or training.
Valid NC or SC driver’s license.
Working knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to building and equipment usage, maintenance, and repair.
Knowledge of building standards, building repairs and cleaning practices.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic understanding of Catholic theology would be beneficial.
