a morning of prayer - reflecting on Jesus's hidden years
Join us for an Ignatian Spirituality morning retreat experience in the prayer style of Visio Divina, or “sacred seeing, Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025 10:00 a.m. – noon in Biss Hall
Jesus shows us by example, that our spiritual life is essentially a hidden life. From the time he astounds people in the temple at age 12 until Jesus begins his mission at 30 years old, we know only that he went back to Nazareth with his parents and was obedient to them, and that during this period, he “grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2: 52
We will use visual elements to help set your mind on prayer and allow God to speak into your heart with that image.
The morning will begin with a reflection on what it means to be “hidden in God” and how God transforms us in our ordinary lives and ordinary prayers. You will pray with images, scripture and a few prompts and experience a mix of individual contemplative prayer time, guided prayer sessions and group sharing.
